These Four Walls

These Four Walls is the story of a young musician growing up in Berlin during the Second World War. Blue-eyed and blonde-haired, by day Lena performed to Nazis who had no idea she was Jewish; by night she concealed her family behind the false wall of her appartment. Now her only hiding place is this cupboard...

Written by Ciaran McConville, whose work includes Snowbound at the Royal National Theatre Studio, The Man Who Dreamed (Sunday Times Critic’s Choice), Immortal (Critic’s Choice, The Scotsman) and an adaptation of Nineteen Eighty-Four (The Guardian Critic’s Choice).

Directed by Jamie Harper, the 2006 winner of the JMK award, and winner of the 2006 John S Cohen Bursary (English Touring Theatre and National Theatre Studio).
